LoveTwine is a private app for two people in a relationship. This policy explains what the app stores, who can see it, and what happens when you delete your account. It is written in plain language, and it describes what the app actually does today.
LoveTwine is published by an individual developer, not a registered company. Contact: Contact@lovetwine.com
Who can use LoveTwine
LoveTwine is for adults aged 18 and over. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
What we store
Account information
Your email address, password (handled by Firebase Authentication — we never see or store your password ourselves), your display name, your role in the relationship, and your birthday and anniversary if you enter them.
Content you create
| Feature | What is stored |
|---|---|
| Love Notes | Letters you write, including who wrote them and who they were sent to |
| Timeline | Moments you add — title, description, date, category, location, and any photo you attach |
| Us This Week | Your weekly check-in answers, ratings, and an AI-written reflection based on them |
| Goals & Bucket List | Shared goals and dreams added by either of you |
| Canvas | Drawings, with each stroke tagged to whoever drew it |
| Touch Languages | Your private answers about physical affection |
| Cycle Companion | Period dates, symptoms, mood, and notes — health information |
Two things are kept only on your own phone and are never uploaded to our servers: your Twine AI conversations, and the conversation cards and date ideas saved in Heart Talks and Plan Something.
Technical information
A device token so we can send you notifications.
We also use Firebase Crashlytics, which reports crashes so we can fix them. When the app crashes, it sends Google a crash report that includes your device model, operating system version, and an app identifier. Crash reports do not contain your letters, moments, cycle entries, or any other content you create.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used — which features people open, how often the app is launched, and roughly where users are in the world. This tells us what to improve. It records that something happened, never what you wrote.
Two features are deliberately left out of this. We do not record any action you take inside Cycle Companion or Touch Languages, because knowing when someone logs a period or answers a question about affection would reveal something private. We only record that the screen was opened.
What your partner can see
LoveTwine is built for two linked accounts sharing one private space. Once you link with your partner, most of what you create is visible to them. That is the point of the app, but you should know exactly where the lines are.
Your partner can see: letters you send them, timeline moments you add, your weekly check-in answers and reflections, shared goals and bucket list items, the canvas, and your birthday and anniversary.
Your partner cannot see: your Twine AI conversations, your individual Touch Languages answers, or any cycle entry you mark as private.
Touch Languages
Your individual answers are never shared. Your partner only sees activities you both rated positively — nothing else, and no indication of what you said about anything else. If only one of you likes something, neither of you is told.
Cycle Companion
Cycle Companion is used by the wife in a linked pair. Entries are visible to the husband unless marked private. Cycle notifications may appear on your lock screen and can include health-related text — if that matters to you, turn off notifications for this feature in your phone settings.
Twine AI
Your conversations with Twine AI are yours alone. Your partner cannot read them.
Photos
Photos you attach to timeline moments are stored using Firebase Storage. Access is limited to you and your linked partner through security rules.
One thing to know: each photo has a private download link. Anyone who has that link can open the photo without signing in. Links are not published anywhere, but if you share one outside the app, it will work for whoever receives it.
Twine AI and Google Gemini
Twine AI is powered by Google Gemini through Firebase AI Logic. When you use it, your message and the earlier messages in that same conversation are sent to Google to generate a reply.
For the weekly reflection, your check-in answers are sent to Google. If your partner has also checked in that week, their answers for that week are sent too, so the reflection can speak to both of you.
Twine AI gives suggestions for communication and connection. It is not therapy, medical advice, or professional counselling.
Encryption
Your data is encrypted in transit and encrypted at rest by Google’s infrastructure. It is not end-to-end encrypted. That means Google, as our infrastructure provider, holds the keys, and the developer of LoveTwine has technical access to the database.
We do not read your content, and we will not, except where genuinely necessary to fix a technical problem or where required by law. But we are telling you plainly that the access exists rather than implying a privacy guarantee we cannot make.
What we do not do
- We do not show ads.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not use your content to train AI models.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers that run the app:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage, notifications, crash reporting, usage analytics, and server functions
- Google Gemini (via Firebase AI Logic) — generating Twine AI responses
Data is stored on Google servers in the United States.
Data stored on your phone
The app keeps a local copy of your data on your device so it works offline. Your Twine AI conversations are stored only on your phone and are never uploaded.
This local data is excluded from Android’s automatic backup, so it is not copied to your Google Drive. Uninstalling the app removes it from your device.
Unlinking from your partner
Either of you can unlink at any time, without the other’s agreement. When you unlink:
- Both accounts are separated immediately and your partner is notified.
- Nothing is deleted, but the shared space closes. Content created during the relationship is no longer accessible to either of you in the app.
- Linking with someone new creates a fresh shared space. It does not restore the old one.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
What is deleted
Everything you created is deleted, including:
- Your account and sign-in details
- Timeline moments you added, including the photos attached to them
- Your weekly check-in entries
- Your cycle entries
- Your Touch Languages answers
- Your drawings on the canvas
Your Twine AI conversations and your saved conversation cards live only on your phone, so they go when you uninstall the app.
Some shared settings are also removed because they belong to the relationship rather than to one person: cycle settings, the daily touch suggestion, and the record of which activities you and your partner both liked.
If your partner checked in during the same week as a check-in of yours, the AI reflection on their entry is cleared too, because it was written using your answers.
What is not deleted
- Letters you sent your partner. A letter is something you gave to them, so it stays.
- Shared goals and bucket list items. These belong to the two of you together and are not recorded as belonging to one person, so they are not deleted.
- Your partner’s own letters, moments, check-ins and drawings. These are theirs and are not deleted.
What happens to your partner
When you delete your account, the link between you is closed. Your partner is told that you deleted your account. Their own content stays in the database, but the shared space it lived in is closed, so it is no longer available to them in the app.
Deleting without the app
If you have already uninstalled LoveTwine, email Contact@lovetwine.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. See our account deletion page for details.
Timing
Deletion happens immediately. Copies may remain in Google’s routine backups for a short period afterwards before being overwritten.
Your rights
You can access and edit your information inside the app, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your data — email us and we will help.
How long we keep things
We keep your content for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, it is removed as described above.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
